How do you choose your Vox neighbours and friends?
Submitted by gcgal.
Good question! Generally, my friends and neighbours are people that I know,or fellow Vox-ers that have commented on one of my posts who I think are cool.

I had every intention of going to bed early tonight but there is a new episode of Dog The Racist A**hole Bounty Hunter's show on tonight so I have to watch.

I'm going to Louisiana tomorrow and probably won't have internet access,so in case you're wondering, that's what is up:)
Kirk was saying in his blog how he loves the Discovery Channel.Well, I'm a fan too. That, and TLC(owned by the same company!).And A&E(not owned by the same company!)
More TV show love: Flipping Out on Bravo, and 30 Days on FX(which are on at the same time-luckily they're both repeated immediately afterwards so maybe I won't have to be going from one to the other back and forth for an hour. What I *need* is a freaking TiVo :P)
Street Scene has some good bands this year.over a couple of days. But $75?(and that's *before* the Ticketbastard service fee.)I'm considering going to the Radiohead show later on this summer(the tickets for that are a decent(ish) price, at least.
The bands I want to see at Street Scene:
Beck, X,Vampire Weekend(heard a song of theirs on Sirius that I really liked),Spiritualized and Devotchka(who did the music in Little Miss Sunshine)
Bands I'm kind of interested in seeing:
TV On The Radio(I saw them at a radio station thing a few years back, with a bunch of bands),Spoon,The Hives,Tegan and Sara.
They've moved it again though. This year Street Scene is going to be in the East Village area of downtown, right next to Petco Park.

I didn't know this:Rev. Fred Phelps(of Westboro Baptist Church fame) used to be a civil rights lawyer.Given his history,I find that ironic(yeah,I really do think)

Even though it looks like a completely crap movie, I want to see Wanted,if only for the James McAvoy factor.I like Morgan Freeman(he's a national treasure),but can't stand Angelina Jolie.

The domino and mah jongg games on this website are addictive.

I've got another show I'm addicted to: The Verminators on the Discovery Channel. It's about pest control guys and man, they see some really gross stuff.Like last night, they had a house with pigeons living in the attic. The pest control guy was like "this place stinks!" pretty much right when he walked in the house. When they went up in the attic they found out why.
There were a ton of piegons up there and..how to put this delicately.....they made a mess. And they had been up there making a mess for a while.
The people living in the house were, surprisingly, not sick from living in the house. The pest control guys had to come in and decontaminate the house and make it so that the pigeons couldn't get in the attic again.
Last night I watched Swingtown(think a TV version of The Ice Storm) complete with music from that era.I'm waiting for the very special key party episode :P

I saw a story about these kids that were now allowed to graduate from high school because they had rebel flags on the back of their cars. The surprising thing? That it was in Minnesota,of all places.*shakes head*

I had some strange dreams the other night:
The first was that I was at this coffee house that had a super low ceiling(I mean,I was bent over, and I'm not that tall!) but then after a while you walked into a room that had a HUGE ceiling.
The second was that I was on a boat(a cruise ship?) and saw a Cunard cruise ship but it was HUGE.I mean,it made all of the other Cunard ships look *tiny*.It made the Oosterdam, the cruise ship we went on in January, look small, and that's saying something!
The third was that I was with my mom when she went to the library to drop off a book, and it was right before the library closed so I was mad at her for putting it off until the last minute.I wandered off while she was in the library. For some reason they were doing an archelogical dig right in the middle of the library.I decided to hide from my mom for some reason, but I woke up before I could find out of she found me or not!

I babysit my nephews and niece tonight, that is going to be a LOT of fun:)

Obviously, I decided not to make my blog entries private.
I finally got to watch Denise Richards:It's Complicated. My goodness. She swears. Not just a little bit, but a f***ing lot! Around her kids, too, which is more than a little bit disconcerting.
Rejected names for her show:
I don't have Tourette's
Denise Richards:It's F***ing Complicated
Denise Richards:I cuss more than you do
Denise Richards:You're g***am right I have a potty mouth!

Watched Sunshine last night. It was alright.I wanted to turn it off a couple of times, and it was more than a little derivative(the only reason i was watching it was for Cillian Murphy to be quite honest).
I heard from my parents! They sent a short email.Everything is going well, which I am glad to hear.:)
=============================================================================
Watched the first part of The Andromeda Strain(well, the 2008 remake of it anyways)on A&E last night. For the second hour I was flipping between that, and The Paper on MTV(about which more in a minute!).The remake was a lot scarier(and gorier)than the original. I liked it a lot, though. It was a remake that worked, unlike some(especially since the threat of bioterrorism is very real.It wasn't when the original was made,or if it was, it wasn't NEARLY to the extent that it is now.
The Paper was really good too. They had an hour season finale,so I was going from A&E to MTV and back(luckily the channels aren't too far from each other on my cable system) between 10 and 11.I'm going to have to do that again tonight, because Workout is on.

I think I must be one of the few people who likes it when Howard Stern takes vacations. They always have a week of Best Of, which is fun.Whereas other fans are like "He's taking a vacation again?"
==================================================================================
I had some REALLY strange dreams last night.I dreamt that:
My mon had this gash on her face(it was HUGE)that would not stay stitched up.No idea how her face got like that, either. We were on vacation, near as I could tell in the dream.
Then I dreamt that I got an invite to my cousin's wedding...that was addressed to my parents' friends. That was a bit weird.
The final dream was the funniest.I dreamt that we were vacationing with Hulk Hogan and his family(wife and kids too- I guess they hadn't gotten divorced in my dream.)To say I didn't get along with Nick Hogan in the dream would be putting it mildly.:P
I have to admit I was *so* disappointed when I heard the news about Ted Kennedy. It doesn't look good, but I saw a picture of Patrick Swayze, who was supposedly at death's door not too long ago, looking *great*.

When I was at the gym today,I was on the treadmill, watching coverage of Hillary Clinton campaigning in Florida. There was this guy behind her who kept doing weird stuff that was making me giggle.I mean, not a little bit,I had to get off of the treadmill because I was laughing so hard.I'm sure people thought I was insane :P

I was right about who died on NCIS-Lauren Holly's character. It was a bit weird to kill her off since she had been revealed to have some sort of medical condition.I would have thought they would have killed her off because of her conditon, not getting shot the way that she did.
Also, I predict that David Archuleta is going to win American Idol.Boyfriend can *sing*.
I can't believe David Cook won.He didn't have *nearly* as strong of a voice as David Archuleta, IMO
Jackie, the owner of the gym on Workout is the ultimate bad boss. And trust me, I know.I can't believe that she works her clients-people who are still REALLY out of shape,so hardThe sort of stuff she has her clients doing,I could do,because I'm in a bit better shape than they are(but I'd probably be a bit sore).
The way she treats some of her clients(and her employees)leaves a lot to be desired.

My parents are off to Spain,Portugal and a overnight in Morrocco(!)early tomorrow.I wish I was going with them :)
This time of year is interesting because of the TV show seaon finales.Lots of people dying(or it's ambiguous that they are dead..CSI Miami comes right to mind).I dunno, but House's season finale last night didn't move me.At all.And I read online that a lot of people were sobbing at the end of it.Not me.It's odd.
NCIS's season finale is tonight(and it's a 2-hour one so I will be flipping between that and Hell's Kitchen.)Tonight on Hell's Kitchen one of the chefs chops the tip of his finger off...and it goes missing.Ewww.

Seriously, people need to back off of Barack Obama. To say that some of the comments that have been about him are below the belt would be putting it mildly.

I had a really strange dream the other day.I dreamt that I was at some get together and I made a really inappropirate comment. So inappropriate that I won't repeat it,but it was over the line, even for me.
Then,I dreamt that my brother came for a visit, which was a surprise. But when i asked my parents they said that they had to keep it a secret, which I thought was weird.Plus, that would never happen in real life.It would be impossible to keep a visit from my brother secret.

I had something that was bothering me.I thought it was trivial, but it was bugging me to the point that I was *crying*.I finally talked to someone about it and I immediately felt better.
It's not that bad right now, actually.
