More weird dreams

The other night I dreamt that my parents and I were going on a cruise.I was getting to the ship by myself, and got there with about 2 seconds to spare.Then I realise that I don't have my passport(which was necessary wherever it was we were going).I did find it eventually,though,thank goodness!During all of this I find out that the entire ship is under quarrantine(usually, when someone get sick,like with an intentinal virus, only they have to be quarrantined.Now I *know* I was dreaming :P)

Dougie from Travis is a dad-his missus Kelly had her baby,who they named Freddie Peter.Aww.It's weird, there are way more male Travis offspring than there are female(though Neil(Primrose, Travis' drummer) has two daughters).

For some reason,I have been having dreams about Travis-especially dreams about going to Travis concerts-lately.I must want to go to a Travis show, even though I just saw them at the end of November at the House of Blues.

I went to see Run,Fatboy Run today.It was really funny,I liked it a lot and may even go to see it again,which isn't something I do a lot.Being an anglophile,I loved the London setting,and seeing lots of British/Irish actors that I recognised,including-invisiblesparks will love this- Stephen Merchant,of Office fame-though it's kind of a blink and you'll miss it role.

Also,we only saw two previews-nice,compared to the 20 minutes they usually have-the first was the Sex and The City movie and the second was Son Of Rambow which I mentioned the other day.And having seen the preview for it,I can't wait!That is going to be a "cannot miss" movie to be sure.

Wow.My pictures came out really good despite the fact my camera's ~~kind of~~ is a POS.

Soo.Travis were amazing.Oh my gosh, Ceji, you missed a great show!I SO hope that they play the HOB next time round!

I got there early so had to just kill time.Then I finally went back to the HOB where there was one fan waiting already. We were there for a while before any other fans showed up.We were there for a while and hanging out talking before any of the band showed up.I got a picture with Fran, who was drinking a Jamba Juice. I got a couple of pictures but it took a while because my camera was misbehaving(I finally got it to work)-and someone who was now in line to get in was like "That's the worst camera". I was just like "....."(IOW you'll get no argument from me.:P)

BTW if you eat at the HOB restaraunt you can get in early.I kinda hope they come back to HOB next time but it took forever to get my damn dinner,I swear!(it was well worth the wait though!)

Finally the doors opened and they let us in.I had a Stella Artois(mmmmmm beer).I now have a new favourite beer:PMaximo Park came on and it seemed like they played for a LONG time.They were REALLY good-might have to buy their most recent album.Apparently they know San Diego well, they mentioned playing the Casbah.

Then they switched out the equipment and it seemed like it didn't take very long for Travis' roadies to set their equipment up.One of their roadies(the guitar tech) is REALLY nice-in fact all of their roadies are.I think they've got different crew from the last couple of tours-Giles was the only name that I recognised.

Travis came onstage to the music from Rocky and wearing boxing silks(you had to be there!)

First a few random comments about the crowd:

1)They were fairly well behaved

2)There were a LOT of people taking pctures even though the HOB are really anal about that.It's as if the HOB security didn't really care(though apparently they were camera nazis at the Anaheim HOB,but they barely even searched my bag at the San Diego one.I was not really hiding the fact that I was taking pictures either.It was a "screw you!" to the man :P

3)A little concert etiquitte:If you're going to fart,PLEASE don't do it in a confined space.That is just nasty.

As I've said before,there is no such thing as a BAD Travis show,and this was no exception.They did a realy good cross section of their stuff-old and new,and they did Blue Flashing Light which is one of their best songs(and a favourite of my brother Henry's.)

This time around they had a new keyboard player Claus, who was from Sweden(and who was very cute!)One of the few dark haired people in Sweden to hear Fran tell it-cause you know how most people from Sweden look like they could be in ABBA?Yeah.

Andy went out in the audience during All I Want To Do Is Rock-he had to go right by my brother and I when he was getting off the stage and back on(and I thought he was going to fall and crack his head open!)

The guy who stood next to me for the last half of the show won the fan spirit award-he was jumping around and singing along.It was like [Peter Griffin] OK spaz[/Peter Griffin].

I liked that they did a cross section of all of their albums so far- a fair amount of songs from The Man Who which was good.To me,it just wouldn't be a Travis show if they didn't play As You Are, Driftwood or Turn.But they also did a couple of songs from their first and third albums which was good.

After the show,I managed to get Andy's towel:P

Afterwards I got my shirt signed by Fran-with wings-because I'm "an angel". Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I didn't get another pictue,and I promised Fran I'd have a better camera next time.

My brother Steve came to the show and he was impressed(again-this was his second show!)with how good they were.Well, yeah!

We waited around for a while afterwards on the off chance that the rest of the band would make an appearance but we gave up pretty fast.It was freaking COLD!

I got some bad news the other day-I'd rather be vague and not get into the particulars but it was shocking to me.

Oh and the game we went to today was a *football* game,not a soccer game.Oops.We had a few people over for pizza afterwards(Bongiorno's-I couldn't remember the name when I was telling my brother Henry about it the other day but I know it now!)

Tomorrow is the Travis show!I'm SO excited.I'm going to get there early so I can stalk-I mean meet,the band :P People who have been to shows so far have nothing but good things to say(OTOH have I ever been to a *bad* Travis concert? The answer to that is an emphatic "NO!!") :P And they're such lovely people,too!
