I went to see Made Of Honor yesterday. It was alright. The only reason I saw it was because Kevin McKidd(Vorenus on Rome)is in it.And it takes place(at least partially)in Scotland and you know how I am about Scotland and Scottish accents ;)

I've got this
ordered and it should be here soon. It's like High Fidelity for movie buffs, and the lists are written by people who know-filmmakers themselves.

Went to Trader Joe's-I don't worry about high prices at the store because when I go to Trader Joe's I buy a lot, and don't pay a whole lot-compared to say,Ralph's.
My mom and dad and I went to IKEA today. I thnk this was the first time I've been there that it wasn't crazy busy.We got there about 10:30 in the morning,so that may have had something to do with it.We were there looking for several things, and I found several of my Christmas presents(yes!).I told my mom I think this is probably the earliest that she has ever started her Christmas shopping.True!I got a "down"(it's not actually down,it's synthetic)comforter, and a duvet cover.
I went to Trader Joe's, via Barnes and Noble and Bevmo(they're across the street from each other).I haven't had coffee in a few days so my head was killing me,but even after I had my coffee my head was still killing me,so I think it's the change in weather(we're having a heat wave..a tropical heatwave :P)
Bevmo is a neat store. They've got every kind of alcohol you can think of, as well as food and coffee stuff(they have several flavours of sugar-free syrup for coffee(must remember that!)as well as all of the stuff you might need for a party. At pretty good prices,I thought. And no pressure whatsoever!I could just wander through there checking everything out.
Then I went to Trader Joe's.It was BUSY.I don't think I've ever been there when it *wasn't* busy.Something that bugged me:I LOVE the Chinese Chicken Salad there, but a couple of the ones they had were bad-one had a piece of chicken that was raw(eww)and another that had a piece of chicken that had MOLD on it(eww again),I mentioned it to someone who worked there so hopefully they threw out the offending salads and checked to make sure how fresh the rest of them were.
Yesterday I went to North County Fair-normally I would not go all the way out there but I just decided to,on a whim. It's not something I'm going to do all the time though-it's a trip and a half on the bus!In any case, there is a Yankee Candle store, and anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Yankee Candles;I just happened to hit up the Yankee Candle store at North County Fair when they were having a sale.
The end result?I got as many candles as I would usually buy-for half the price!Score!I am a happy girl and I won't need to buy any Yankee Candles for a while :)

After our freezing cold Valentine's Day,the weather has been perfect in the daytime-but cold at night, which is typical for this time of year. There is a TON of snow in the mountains here, and in fact there were people stranded at one of the casinos, because it snowed there!

My new favourite thing:plain Greek style yogurt(or any good plain yogurt-the Greek yogurt is hard to find, they sell it at Trader Joe's and a local heath food-ish chain here,I don't know about the rest of the country)with a little bit of low-sugar fruit preserves(I like blackberry myself) mixed in.It's a bit of an acquired taste, very similar to sour cream, but mixing it with something like fruit, helps.
Well, today I went to Trader Joe's and I bought a ton of stuff... the grand total was-are you sitting down?- not quite $10.I couldn't believe it.I thought it'd be a lot more so I was happy about that!I need to go to Trader Joe's more often, methinks :)
I wasn't able to update my blog whilst I was at my brother's house so you're getting to hear all my stories from when I was in Oklahoma City now.
Got a few of my Christmas presents bought the other day.One of the presents was a Barbie doll for my niece Chloe.Yes, I consider myself a feminist but I don't follow the feminism rules.Much.In other words,I most certainly am not cut from the Gloria Steinem school of feminism :PNot that I have a problem with Gloria..I just don't feel as if we're on the same page where feminism is concerned all of the time.
I don't think Barbie presents a negative body image for little girls. That's why I'm surprised when I hear that parents won't let their daughters have Barbie dolls.I think there are more important things to be concerned about-like girls seeing these stick thin models and wanting to be like them..to be as stick thin as they are.I've never heard of that happening because they wanted to be like Barbie.I've heard of people having plastic surgery because they want to be like Barbie but I think that's something else entirely :P

Last night's Journeyman was really good but boy did it ever bring back memories.Kevin McKidd's character traveled back in time to October 1989-the Loma Prieta earthquake.I remember when that happened-I was watching the start of the A's/Giants game and all of a sudden the screen went black.I told my mom "I think something REALLY bad just happened.

So I've been trying to find a nice dressy top to wear for Thanksgiving at my brother's house. So far,I've kinda struck out(though I saw a possibility at Target,of all places!).I went to a Steve and Barry's and saw a cute top, which was certainly the right price(it was from Sarah Jessica Parker-yes,that one-'s- Bitten clothing line.)
The top was certainly cute enough, but I had to try several sizes on-the first was too tight around my arms(and you have to understand that these clothes go up to fairly large sizes which is wonderful,but..)I tried on an extra extra large which was WAY too big,and then an extra large, which was perfect, but I just thought it was WAY too frumpy on me.And it was a bit too long for my liking.
So Saturday I was at Target and they had some cute polo shirts for women there.I tried one on and..oh wow.I like! And the shirt gave me some serious curves!(though with all the work-going to the gym, etc. I've been doing I've been getting curves anyways!)
My mom and I delivered Meals On Wheels today and as always it was great.Several people we deliver to asked me how my Fourth of July was :)
The fireworks last night were kind of a bust,My mom said that the fireworks near their house were spectacular.Darnit :P
Went to Target whilst my mom was at Joann's(this was after Meals on Wheels)and bought a BUNCH of stuff for $20(well just over $20 but still..)I was finding the good deals at Target today(a good thing to be sure!)
Your employees are idiots.
I went over to the Borders in Carlsbad so I could spend the gift certificate I got from my aunt.I got a book, a couple of magazines(one of which was Entertainment Weekly which I had to have 'cause Daniel Craig is in it..He is teh sexeh in the pictures in EW. )
