I watched Control last night. It was SO good. It's the story of Ian Curtis, the lead singer of the band Joy Division(who went on to become New Order)
I watched Elizabeth :The Golden Age last night.I really liked it.Not very historically accurate from what I've heard, but I liked it a lot.
*I had my first snag with Netflix --it took forever for the videos to be returned and usually it is lightning fast.It wasn't Netflix' fault though.

*Last night's Sarah Silverman Program was so wrong it was not even funny.I mean,it was funny but I felt really guilty for laughing(anyone reading this who saw it knows what I am talking about)

*Dame Helen Mirren was in my dream last night.True! She was very nice, too!

*My mom and I did Meals on Wheels today and as always it was great-we only had 9 people so it went relatively quickly.

*File this under "I would have appreciated a warning!"I had some tortilla chips that had whole flaxseeds in them. They were tasty but..flaxseed has a tendency to give you indigestion. That's putting it mildly :P

*In the category of "there are two sides to every story",I had every sympathy for Ellen Degeneres and what she is going through with the dog she gave to her hairdresser, who was then removed from that house.Turns out that this is not the first time that she has done this sort of thing, and she did what she did knowing full well what the rules were yet she has broken them several times.
Buh bye sympathy. And she is making the people who run the shelter where she got the dog look like the bad guys when they are anything but,you know? And this situation is getting to her to the point where she cancelled her show today(waiting for things to die down I suspect!)
Just got 3 new Netflix movies today and have a lengthy list of movies on my queue as well. The things I like the most about it is that the selection is HUGE-and much more varied than your average Blockbuster(the Blockbuster near my house has a crappy selection at best).Plus,it's a much better deal. What I pay a month to belong to Netflix,I would potentially spend at Blockbuster(I don't rent that many videos but what I do rent adds up to roughly the same amount.)
Casino Royale comes out tomorrow on DVD and I can't wait.I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve:)
Speaking of Bond films, here are some suggestions from posters on a Bond related message board I post on

Folded hands stay closed
No:
My enemy's enemy is my friend
Tease me to death(sorry it sounds like a porno)
The undertaker's wind(sounds like the undertaker is having a health issue.So.many.fart.jokes. :P
Risico(a good title in theory, but may be hard to pronounce, and spell)
Got 3 more DVD's from Netflix- Backbeat, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas and Inside Man.Watched Fear and Loathing. That movie is a freaking hoot.
My brother and his wife and kids came over for dinner last night.Chloe was really gravitating towards me last night-wanting me to read her books, that sort of thing.I was *loving* it of course.I love being Aunt Katie :)
Starring: Taylor Nichols,Tushka Bergen,Mira Sorvino and Thomas Gibson
Directed by Whit Stillman
Barcelona takes place in..go on,I bet you'll never guess.... Barcelona Spain, at the end of the Cold War(early 80's or late 70's?) Ted(Taylor Nichols)is a repressed buisnessman trying to find the perfect girlfriend, but on his own terms. Unexpectedly,he gets a house guest, his cousin Fred(Chris Eigman) who is the polar opposite of his cousin. The two have always had a love-hate relationship, and it shows.
The film's thread of anti-American sentiment is very timely, especially given what's going on in the world right now.
Ted and Fred try to find the perfect girls for them(with interesting results).Barcelona is a great film, with its themes of love, conflict, free will and religion. Highly reccomended, not just for the story(it's one of the better written movies I've seen recently),but also for the scenery.
I have been to the gym 3 times this week.Go team me! *and* my blood sugar was pretty good when I tested it this morning. For those of you that are interested, there's a show called D Life that's on CNBC on Sunday afternoons. If you want to edumacate yourself,it's a good way to do so(even if it's only half an hour)
Got 3 new movies from Netflix. One of them is the original Hitchiker's Guide To the Galaxy series from 1981.It's funny enough, but damn,it looks so dated. When I picture Arthur Dent I picture the Arthur from the movie. The other movies? Capote and Barcelona.
Do you think I give a damn about Windows Vista?That's right,I don't.
Shake It All About(Denmark)
Jacob(Mads Mikkelsen) loves Jorgen( Troels Lyby).Early on in the film Jacob proposes to Jorgen. But the course of love sometimes has diversions,in the form of Jorgen's sister Caroline, who Jacob falls for.
Caroline is in a loveless marriage, and has a son.Her husband, a pilot,is rarely at home.Caroline and Jacob share a drunken kiss at his birthday party. There is an attraction there that can't be denied, even though Jacob is gay(or at the very least,bi curious). There exists evidence of their kiss, which devastates Jorgen when he finds it.Then, no longer able to deny their mutual attraction and they consumate their relationship.Jorgen susses it out,and is upset. This leads to a life changing accident.
Their friends are horrified that Jacob has left his boyfriend of many years for a woman of all things. The discovery that Caroline is pregnant doesn't help the situation.Caroline and Jacob leave their respective partners and move into his parents' house.
Jacob wants to make a honest woman of Caroline, and they get to the altar when Jacob realises who he truly loves(though I do think there was attraction between him and Caroline). There is a happy ending(I would consider it happy, though I would have liked to see what happened with Caroline and Jacob-did she allow Jacob to be a part of her baby's life?)All in all, a very good movie.:)
Whilst I was waiting for the Coaster this morning this guy walks by,notices me writing something and says "is that in English?".My handwriting really IS that bad, apparently :P
