I made potato salad and deviled eggs that I took to the the party we went to,both of which were a huge hit,so I was happy :)

*points to subject line* when it comes to other holidays, I have self control.But I always overeat on the Fourth Of July.I was SO bad today,I ate a lot of stuff that I shouldn't have.I'm dreading checking my blood sugar tomorrow :P

I'm not sure if anyone on my friends list celebrates Passover,but if you do, happy Pesach.

Lots of strange dreams last night,very disjointed,but also kind of funny,one of them involved my parents and I on a little mini bus and all of a sudden we stopped to pick up Ceji!

After my friend Tom's birthday party(about which more in a minute!)we went by Horton Plaza and we went to Steve and Barry's.I found a cute Bitten(the Sarah Jessica Parker clothing line) dress to wear to my cousin's wedding in July. *and* it was under $10.Score!

So.My friend Tom's birthday party!It was a LOT of fun.I enjoyed it,I got to meet a LOT of his friends,all very nice people,and the food was really good(they had guys making these really good taco stand-style tacos.I had a few of them, they were delicious!)And there was music,and a slideshow with pictures of Tom(someone had taken pictures of him through the years and had them put on a CD which was really cool.)All told, a very fun,and very busy day.

I had a very relaxing Easter.A lot of Easter dinner I did ahead of time so that eliminated a lot of stress right there.My dad and I went to church,then we came home and hung out for a while until my brother and his wife and kids and my mom's friend Linda came over for dinner.

We had an Easter Egg hunt(that never gets old!)and then it was time for dinner.The food was SO good,but I wasn't too bad(I didn't feel overly full, in other words)After we had dessert,we all walked down to the Farmer's Market.I actually wound up buying something there(a bag of blood oranges).Since it was Easter,there weren't as many stalls as there usually would be,which is understandable.

I thought this was realy cool:On Holy Saturday,the Pope baptized a man who had been born Muslim into the church.The guy who was being baptized is a well known journalist in Italy.I'm sure his decision to become a Catholic(I believe his wife is Catholic)is not something you take lightly.And it's not something that he went into saying "I'm going to do this" and come up with some lame excuse why.No, he put thought into it.

It's something that I experienced(albeit second hand) recently.A friend was baptized, and,quite frankly,got a chilly reception from some of her friends who belong to a certain denomination(but that's a post for another day,since there are all sorts of aspects to the story. I was one of the people that was happy for her,but I also thought that the treatment she got from certain people was really sh***y(that's putting it mildly!)As with the man I mentioned earlier, it was not something that she took lightly.

My parents and I went to a St. Patrick's Day party yesteday at friends of theirs' house.Oh.My.God.It was SO good.It was salty, and fatty and delicious and(surprisingly)better than mine.The flavours were PERFECT.

I had a appointment with my diabetes doctor.Things are still going well(yay!)which I was glad to hear.I am nothing,if not careful when it comes to my diabetes.I don't want to get compilcations and have to live with them for the rest of my life.

I went to my diabetes doc today and the news is still good, so I was happy about that:)

The soup I made yesterday was good,but not that good.I don't know why,but it didn't taste as good today as when I tried it yesterday.weird.I mean it wasn't inedible,but it could have been better.

Not only is it Super Tuesday tomorrow,but it's also Fat Tuesday-Mardi Gras.I guess you could call it Super Fat Tuesday :P)

My mom and I went to the mall after my doctor's appointment and hung out there for a few hours.I found a couple of skirts that might be good to wear to my cousin's wedding in July(yeah,I'm already thinking about what I want to wear already!)

I looked at the Sarah Jessica Parker clothing line at Steve And Barry's and at Torrid(they just opened a Torrid store at the Carlsbad mall).I saw a few things that I like there too.But the stuff at Torrid is expensive.The Sarah Jessica Parker Bitten stuff is nice, and way more affordable.

I'll get into detail about my Christmas in a minute.But I have to mention..

So.My Christmas(and the few days leading up to it was GREAT.We headed up to Santa Barbara on Sunday and made really good time getting there.We got to my aunt and uncle's house and hung out there for a while before we went out to dinner at a really good Mexican food restaraunt(Playa Azul)

Monday we just hung out more,with a side trip to Costco for stuff for Christmas dinner and drank lots of coffee(my uncle makes the best coffee).Then I went to a bookstore called Chaucer's.It was an old-school bookstore,not like the chain places at all(not that I don't like those places) and packed with people doing their last-minute shopping.

Middday we drove up into the mountains and had lunch at the Cold Spring Tavern,a fun,funky place with really good food.

We had Christmas Eve dinner(lasagana),which was delicious.

Tuesday :Was Christmas and I didn't get a lot,but I liked what I got-a new digital camera-Casio Exilim-and a memory foam pillow.Plus gift cards for Barnes and Noble and Starbucks.

We went to Wilcox preserve,which is owned by Michael Douglas.It's on a prime piece of real estate,overlooking a beach and if you turn around there's the mountains.

For Christmas dinner we had salmon, potatoes,salad and broccoli.It was not a typical Christmas dinner but it was delicious!

Yesterday my parents and I came home and,again,made good time getting home.

I had a fantastic Christmas,and my parents LOVED the gifts that I got them.That made me very happy.

I really like giving gifts better.However..

*The guy who knocked up Jamie Lynn Spears is 19 years old.She's 16.If I'm not mistaken that's rape.Unless she consented,which I rather doubt.This is a tricky subject because it's common for girls of 16 and 17 to get pregnant.I'd like to be sensitive towards those people.If it happens it happens.

BUT!I don't think it reflect very well on Jamie Lynne and Britney's parents.It's obvious that they did a half a$$ed job with Britney.I don't think that's the case with all teenage mothers.But with Jamie Lynn,there IS some precedent.

*My mom and I did Meals On Wheels today and we had a new person, which made it interesting but with the directions that the MOW people give,we don't have to drive out of our way to do so.

*I've given up trying to get my points across at the James Bond messageboard that I post on.it's like *headdesk* some people are so stubborn when it comes to their opinions.That being said,I can be forceful with my opinions.I realise this and have decided that I'm not going to bother when it comes to certain discussions on this messageboard. There's plenty of other places that I can post on there.

It just gets on my last.nerve when someone posts a news item which may or may not be true and then it gets taken as being true.I think I mentioned this a while back,but that has been getting on my nerves.And I don't know why it gets on my nerves,but it does.

I wasn't able to update my blog whilst I was at my brother's house so you're getting to hear all my stories from when I was in Oklahoma City now.

Guess I'll start at the beginning and work forwards:

Tuesday:I get on the plane in San Diego.Have an hour flight to Las Vegas.I must say,I'm not that impressed with Las Vegas' airport.The part of the airport I was in was rocking a very retro vibe to be sure.Then again,I put money into a slot machine and I won $10.I was like "do I put any more money in the slot machine?" I cashed out and was happy with that.

I got to Oklahoma City and my brother did a double take when he saw me because I've lost so much weight!That made me very happy,to say the least!

Everyone was very happy to see me,and impressed by how skinny I've gotten,but ruined it a little bit because we went out to dinner at one of my brother's favourite Italian restaraunts.Then we went to Books A Million for a bit and hung out there.

My niece and nephew have a Wii.I am absolutely crap at it(believe me,I tried it.I just do not have the dexterity for any of those games!)

Wednesday:I went to the mall for a couple of hours(I had to put off going to the mall for a couple of hours because of circumstances beyond my control.Got to indulge two of my favourite pastimes:Yankee Candles and Sonic(And yes I know it's bad for me!)

We watched Shrek 3(really cute!I liked it!)

Thursday: Was Thanksgiving of course,with lots of food(though I thought that I actually held back to some degree),took a nap in the afternoon and played dominoes.Then, we went to see Bee Movie(again,really good!)

Friday:We didn't do a lot,hung out around at home and then went out to lunch and then over to Barnes and Noble for a while(was able to get a chai latte-and believe me, with how cold it was(more about that in a minute!)it hit the spot. Came home and took a nap,then my brother,nephew and I ran a couple of errands(including going to Super Target which I loved)

Then we'd been back at the house for a while when it started to snow.It wasn't very much snow,but it was snow just the same.For someone from Southern California,where we have snow but it's only at high altitudes,it's really something.In my 36 years of life,I've actually seen it snow 3 times.It was actually quite cold the whole time that I was there but it never bothered me for some reason.

Today:We went out to breakfast at Panera then my niece,nephew brother and I went to the science museum.They had a exhibit on the human body-with actual human bodies-one of many that are out there right now-which was interesting,and checked out the rest of the science museum. Then they dropped me of at the airport where I was able to have Sonic one last time.

Got home safely(der!).

We're going to a friend's son's soccer game tomorrow and of course Monday is the Travis show at the HOB(can't wait for that!)

So that's the last few days summed up :)
