My dad and I went to see Romeo and Juliet at the Old Globe last night. It was really good. But they always are at the Globe. They warned us beforehand that it would be an hour and a half before the intermission, but it seemed to go by really quickly.
Coldstone Creamery is advertising a blueberry muffin batter flavour ice cream.I love blueberries, and I'm sure I'd love it save for one thing:It's is this unnatural purply-blue colour. And I mean, not a little bit, a LOT.It's enough to not make me try it, blueberries or no.Coldstone seems to specialise in those odd flavours, though :)
I made potato salad and deviled eggs that I took to the the party we went to,both of which were a huge hit,so I was happy :)
New foods at the Del Mar Fair this year:
Frog legs
White Castle sliders(or something approximating them)
Pickles marinated in kool-aid(which are apparently quite tasty.I'm gonna pass, thanks.)
Chicken and waffles
Deep fried macaroni and cheese
Deep fried Spam
(Needless to say,I'm not trying any of these when I go to the Fair today) I always go to this place called The Burger Joint which has burgers(and fries)that taste just like In And Out Burgers.Mmmm.

I'm surprised there wasn't more "Oooh, spooky!" because of the fact that Tim Russert just *happened* to die on Friday the 13th. He died yesterday. There's nothing spooky about it.His time was up.

Gay marriage is almost here!As of next week, it'll be legal to get married in most of Califonia, except for some of the more conservative backwaters(San Diego may be a Republican stronghold, but we sure as hell are not a backwater!)

Things I'm doing to help the enviroment:This is a small one,but instead of asking for a paper cup at Starbucks, I ask for a regular coffee mug.Not much, but it DOES help.Plus, I hate the "old" new Starbucks logo,in brown and white(which apparently was the way it was when Starbucks first started.)
Yesterday I made a pot roast.I'd never done so before.I prefer them when they're made by my sister-in-law Rachel(she makes an *awesome* pot roast,as does my mom).Mine was okay, but the smell of pot roast is all up in my house. It's making me a little nauseous, actually.Still, I might make it again.Just not for a while :P

I watched The Darjeeling Limited yesterday.I LOVED it.It's definitely one of those love it or hate it type movies.that's for sure.

Yesterday was a busy day for me,I got a lot done(so I can be lazy today;tomorrow I am going to try to go to the gym and do a little housework when I get home from that.)

I have to admit that I've only thought about my parents a couple of times a day since they left. That's good because it means that I'm keeping myself occupied whilst they're gone.I always have all sorts of adventures when they're gone.

Green Day are playing at the Belly Up(as Foxboro Hot Tubs) tomorrow. It's kinda a badly kept secret that it's them.In any case, tickets are $20(very reasonable for the Belly Up!)I'm not going but my brother Steve is so I'll find out how they were from him.

What part of "spoiler" in the subject line of a post do people not get?I've seen a lot of people complaining that they are getting spoilers for Bond 22...because they click on threads that *clearly* have SPOILER in the subject line. Please excuse my use of vernacular but are these people retarded?Srsly.
It is still hot here . I was really listless this morning but that got better as the day went on.

My parents and I went to a new restaraunt, Passage To India, for dinner tonight. It was GOOD.I love Indian food. I definitely have my favourite dishes, though(tandoori chicken is at the top of the list.Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :P) We had a veggie dish, lamb kebabs(which were REALLY good) and chicken tikka masala. And rice. And raita.

Speaking of cooking, and food, it looks like my nephew Jax is a budding cook.I'm glad to hear that. He's starting out with the easy stuff(pancakes, jello, and rice krispie treats.)That's the way I started out, with the easy stuff.I also burned a LOT of stuff, and made stuff that was inedible, before I became the good cook that I am now.

My nephew Spencer did a video report on the California Gold Rush. They came over for dinner last night, and we got to watch it.I really liked it(but I'm more than a little bit biased :P).I have a feeling he'll get a good grade for it.
They had samples at See's(I was at UTC today)The first sample I tried was a blueberry truffle *points to subject line*. Now, I LOVE blueberries, but this was just nasty.I took one bite and had to throw it out. Then I tried a coffee truffle and I couldn't taste it-the fact I was drinking iced coffee at the time may have had something to do with it.
Then I had a salad for dinner tonight and put half of an avocado-from the tree in my backyard!- in and it was *glorious*. I love avocados. They're good for you, you know.

On the way home from UTC I stopped by Lou's Records.Looked for something in the used/video department(I couldn't find it) the went over to the main store. They have been doing a LOT of work on the main store, and I have to say that I like it. I like it a lot. It's got a much cleaner look now, to say that they have done a redo on the store would be putting it mildly. There used to be an office area, which has been moved to where the video store is now(and the video store is now in the same building with the used CD's.) The vinyl section is where the office used to be in the main building.
I'm so old that I remember when Lou's had a teensy store in Cardiff, then they moved to Encinitas(ahh I have so many memories of going to that store. That's where I bought a lot of my Duran Duran pins back in the day...)
Vosges has some REALLY interesting flavours of chocolate bars. Some of them-Creole(with New Orleans style chicory coffee) sounds better than others(a chocolate bar with-no lie-bacon bits-in it.It's salty and sweet and, apparently has a lot of fans already.)
They also have a white chocolate bar with olives in it(again,I'm gonna pass on that one). They also have a bar that has curry powder and coconut(I get the curry powder, but I'm allergic to coconut,so,no.)
They have two chocolate bars with chiles in them, which sounds like a really odd combination but Chuao makes a Mayan hot chocolate that has chiles in it which is good. It's not spicy right away, the spiciness is an aftertaste, but a good one. Chuao also does very unusual flavours, but not as out there as Vosges.
The perfect combination of relaxing and getting things done :)
*I LOVE Starbucks' new Pike Place blend coffee. "The shiz" doesn't even begin to cover it ;)

*The Howard Stern show was the height of drama this morning.Artie(Lange, one of the Stern show crew)was having an argument with his assisant Teddy which spilled over onto the air,and let's just say that it wasn't pretty.Things were really heavy on air afterwards, but they're all on vacation next week so hopefully things will get sorted out.
Robin(Quivers, another of the Stern show crew)has been championing a charity for women in Eritrea.Fred, the Stern Show's sound effects guy does an impression of the president of Eritrea that sounds like a cross between Idi Amin and Cookie Monster(The Last King of Sesame Street? lol)

*File this under "Religion is bad, mmkay?":
The story about Warren Jeffs' compound in Texas being raided is so many different levels of disturbing it's not even funny. They can't tell who is related to who(and there is some inbreeding going on there-insert joke-pun intended-here going on to be sure)
Kenneth Copeland ministries are supremely messed up.They have 6-hour services. They say you can go home if you want to,but that if you do you're being disruptive and you're endangering your salvation, and that of other people.Wow. Judgemental much?

*Lastly, new episodes of CSI and ER tonight, yay!
