I heard from my parents! Not a very long email, but they said Morocco was very exotic.Glad to hear that they're having a fun time :)

This is cool:I am going to be babysitting my nephews and niece(ages 10,7 and 3)on Friday night.I can't wait. They're good kids so it'll be easy :)

This is sorta old news, but I think it's very cool that Clay Aiken is going to be a dad!(I know I've talked a bit of smack about Clay in the past but it's just that:In.The.Past.

Had some interesting dreams last night:
The first was that I was at the airport;I was waiting for my parents, and when they finally showed up they had so much luggage it looked like we had been on vacation for a while!
The second was that I went to a movie with my parents and my younger nephews, who fell asleep right after the movie started :)
I don't know how it escaped my notice, but there is a new David Sedaris book coming out on Tuesday.
And yes,I will be going to Barnes and Noble on Tuesday to buy it!Apparently his family are featured in the book(gotta love his Dad(is he still alive?I guess I'll find out Tuesday) and his brother Paul(gotta love The Rooster :P)I watched Elizabeth :The Golden Age last night.I really liked it.Not very historically accurate from what I've heard, but I liked it a lot.
Rhodesia,1976
Mum says "Don't come creeping into our room at night."
They sleep with loaded guns beside them on the bedside rugs. She says "Don't startle us when we're sleeping".
"Why not?"
"We might shoot you."
"Oh".
"By mistake".
"Okay".
As it is,there seems a good enough chance of getting shot on purpose."OK,I won't."
-Alexandra Fuller, Don't Let's Go To The Dogs Tonight
*To give it context,it's a good summation of the situation in Rhodesia(now Zimbabwe),which is ongoing, actually. The situation in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe was bad, thus the reason for the loaded guns. Rainbow's End is another really good book that takes place around the same time as Alexandra Fuller's book.
I went to see Made Of Honor yesterday. It was alright. The only reason I saw it was because Kevin McKidd(Vorenus on Rome)is in it.And it takes place(at least partially)in Scotland and you know how I am about Scotland and Scottish accents ;)

I've got this
ordered and it should be here soon. It's like High Fidelity for movie buffs, and the lists are written by people who know-filmmakers themselves.

Went to Trader Joe's-I don't worry about high prices at the store because when I go to Trader Joe's I buy a lot, and don't pay a whole lot-compared to say,Ralph's.
I made chicken gumbo, from the most recent issue of Everyday Food, for dinner tonight. It didn't disappoint.Plus, it was very easy to make(you start out with oil, and then make a roux-and making a roux isn't tricky),then add the rest of the ingredients gradually.

An interesting meme-y thing:
1)Pick someone in the film industry who you would like to have dinner with: Helen Mirren.
2)Set the table;what do you eat?Where do you eat?What would you wear?Sheperd's pie.My house.I'm cooking.It would be casual.
3)List 3 questions you would ask this person:
1)Do you regret not having any children?(though she has several grown stepchilden)of your own?
2)What's your favourite curse word?(stealing that one from Bernard Pivot:P)
3)Which movie role(s) are you the most proud of,and most ashamed of?
According to a headline on Yahoo, Keith Richards is going to be the new spokesperson for Louis Vuitton.Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?He's so leathery.Who's next?George Hamilton?Quite frankly, with all the money he's made as a Rolling Stone, I wouldn't think that Keef would need a side job.But he WAS in the last Pirates Of The Carribean movie playing Jack Sparrow's dad(perfect casting,BTW)

I got 2 $25 gift certificates for Barnes and Noble for my birthday so I went on their online store and bought a bunch of books which are going to go on my "To read" pile.I'm trying to do the "Read 50 books in a year" challenge.I'm already on my 3rd book so I can tell already that this is going to be easy.
I'm currently reading:
and I really like it.Where do you get recommendations for new books to read?
From friends and family-but on occasion I'll just decide to pick up a book I find at the bookstore without knowing much about it-that's actually worked out well for me most of the times I've done so.
Speaking of books,I'm *still* reading Harry Potter 7(yes, I know! For a while I was making time during the day to read a couple of chapters, but I've majorly slacked on that-I'll think I'll try to get through some more of it today-I don't really have anything to do!
