A school in Massachusetts has a bunch of girls doing a "pregnancy pact", where they all got pregnant.Of course one of the things that was blamed for it was movies like Juno and Knocked Up.Um,I don't think so.

On a related note, Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn had her baby the other day.Wanna to start taking bets on how long it is before she's pregnant again?:P

Going back to Juno for just a minute(not the pregnancy thing!)I've noticed that there have been a LOT more movies with animation in either the titles or the trailer since Juno came out.Coincidence?I think not.

Much to my amusement, someone on one of the messageboards that i post on thought that I was from the UK.Since I am such a anglophile, I saw it as a compliment, totally.I mean,if you didn't know anything about me, and you read this blog, with the way I spell some words(realise, for instance) you might think that I was from the UK.But a lot of people do that.

I went to Landmark in Hillcrest and saw Son Of Rambow.I really liked it.

Will(Bill Milner)lives with his mother,sister and grandmother, who are members of The Plymouth Brethren, a rigid religious sect that do not believe in watching TV or going to the movies(I actually thought the church members were portrayed fairly sympathetically.Lord knows-pun intended- they could have gone the the other way.)

When his classmates watch documentaries in class,Will is sent out into the hall,which is where he meets Lee Carter(Will Poulter), the school bully. The two strike up an unlikely friendship.Will sees Rambo:First Blood at Lee's house and is permanently corrupted :P

The two decide to do a short film called Son of Rambow, which they hope to enter into a televised contest.

Things are complicated by the arrival of Didier(Jules Sitruk) a French exchange student,who muscles his way into the making of the film, and Will's trying to keep what is going on a secret from his mother Mary(Jessica Stevenson), and Joshua (Neil Dudgeon) a member of the Brethren who has appointed himself a father figure to Will and his sister,but what Joshua wants more than anything else is to catch Will doing something that isn't Brethren approved(and it becomes obvious at various points that other Brethren members think that Mary and her family aren't as commited to the Brethren as they might seem.

It's all wrapped up very nicely at the end, though because of a certain plot point that happens quite close to the end of the film,I would like to have seen what happened with Will's family.

There are themes that carry through the film-friendship for one, and the absence of fathers-Will's is dead and Lee's left before he was born.

Oh and did I mention Travis are in it?Yep.It's a blink and you'll miss it sort of thing though(The director of Son of Rambow, Garth Jennings, directed Travis' Driftwood video.Another link to Travis is Adam Buxton, a common sight on British TV.

Now that's self control!

We went to a British pub-Penny Lane-in San Marcos last night.I had fish and chips, my dad had curry and my mom had a chicken pot pie.

The food was SO good,but the portions were HUGE.I give myself a lot of credit,because halfway through the meal I asked for a to-go box.I could not have finished all of the food on my plate,I would have had a stomachache,if I did. I get filled up really easily,which is a good thing.When I overindulge,my stomach lets me know.

For some reason,I have been having dreams about Travis-especially dreams about going to Travis concerts-lately.I must want to go to a Travis show, even though I just saw them at the end of November at the House of Blues.

I went to see Run,Fatboy Run today.It was really funny,I liked it a lot and may even go to see it again,which isn't something I do a lot.Being an anglophile,I loved the London setting,and seeing lots of British/Irish actors that I recognised,including-invisiblesparks will love this- Stephen Merchant,of Office fame-though it's kind of a blink and you'll miss it role.

Also,we only saw two previews-nice,compared to the 20 minutes they usually have-the first was the Sex and The City movie and the second was Son Of Rambow which I mentioned the other day.And having seen the preview for it,I can't wait!That is going to be a "cannot miss" movie to be sure.

You have to love rumours:Amy Winehouse was rumoured to be doing the theme for Quantum Of Solace(a.k.a Bond 22)

..but only if she can keep her s*** together. For one.I this story came from the tabloids, so I highly doubt that it's true.for two, she's has a hard time staying *un* messed up.

My mom and I did Meals On Wheels Thursday and as always it was a lot of fun, and I feel really good afterwards.My dad is going to do MOW with me next month-my mom is going to be doing something with her friends so I'll have to be the navigator and tell my dad who gets what meals.

I made ratatouille,which is a French vegetable dish.It's got LOTS of veggies(including eggplant)in it and it is tasty.Definitely a dish that I'm going to be adding to my repertoire(sp.?)

LOL last night I dreamt I was at this hotel and I saw Eva Green(who played Vesper in Casino Royale)I was like "You look like.." she goes "Yes, I'm Eva Green". She was trying to be incognito but not enough since I knew who she was :P

And bought the Harry Potter book.I bought it at Target though,where it was a LOT cheaper.

Went to see The Two Gentlemen Of Verona at the Old Globe tonight.I LOVED it.Let's just put it this way:I've liked every play I've seen there so far.I didn't think that we were going to get to the play in time though.

Why?Because San Diego's Gay Pride weekend is this weekend and the festivities(a lot of them)are in Balboa Park. So there are LOTS of people in the park, between the Pride parade and festivities and people going to the Old Globe it was REALLY tricky finding a place to park.

Before the play my dad and I had dinner at the Princess of Wales Pub in Little Italy. With me being the anglophile I am, I loved it(and I am here to tell you:Their fish and chips are *easily* the best I've had.Ever.Though they are,I have to say a veryveryvery occasional induldgence(obviously!)

Tammy Faye Bakker died :( Apparently she died yesterday but they just announced it today.I can't say I was a fan but she battled cancer for a LOT of years,very bravely.I give her lots of props for that. Godspeed,Tammy.

Today I went down to San Diego on the train.Went to Fashion Valley and then went to Little Italy so I could go to The Princess Of Wales pub to snag a Union Jack newspaper(for Brits in the States but I like to read it because I am a serious anglophile(someone who is obsessed/fascinated/whatever you want to call it:P) with British culture. I also could have gone to the store next door to Shakespeare's Pub(also on India St.).That place is nice cause they have a good selection and they have videos,some of which are hard to find elsewhere in San Diego.

I started walking down India,just checking out everything that was there,and walking until India sort of ends(well, I think it continues but anyways...)then I walked back, the same way I had come.That was a LOT of walking,let me tell you!But I was not out of breath or tired or anything.If you want proof that I am in shape there you go.Not so long ago I might not have been able to do so.Now,no problem :)
