A year ago tonight,Obama was elected president. The next day I wrote this:
Wow.I am sky.high. Still.A lot of people wanted change and they are getting it.

Apparently Maine is California 2.0. They voted against gay marriage there by a HUGE margin. *sigh*.
On a related note...
Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings movies and who is a gay man himself, rips pages out of the Bible, Leviticus to be exact. Why Leviticus?Because there is a passage in Leviticus which condemns homosexuality. It's not something that I would do,but in a way I understand the the sentiment.
It's Ian's "Screw you!" to all the people that tell him that his life style is wrong. He also has fans send him pages that they have ripped out of the Bible.
Love is love,no matter what.That's why what happened in Maine(and last year, here in California) frustrates me so much.
Keith Bardwell, the Louisiana Justice Of The Peace who refused to marry a biracial couple has resigned. He didn't let Gov. Jindal fire him...probably figured he would just save him the trouble.
I give Jindal a lot of credit.....when he first found out about what happened he was horrified and said he was going to do everything he could to get rid of Bardwell. Good for him.
Good:
I went to the doctor and got a good report,everything is as it should be :)
I got a pneumonia shot and my blood drawn and neither of those hurt much :)
I can stick to the same diabetes medicine and the same amount,that's how good I'm doing!
Bad:
They did not have the seasonal flu shot or the swine flu shot so I didn't get those.
I actually bought my first Christmas gift yesterday-I have to do the rest of my Christmas shopping fairly soon so I have it out of the way and won't have to worry about it.
I refuse to do my shopping at malls-I limit my shopping to places that aren't very busy and get my shopping out of way early, as I said,though some malls,like UTC, while they are still crowded,are more tolerable.
All the Halloween candy has been given out...I saved a few for myself, but I was amazed at how fast it disappeared! I got a few trick or treaters, then a whole bunch.It was interesting to watch.
I've used that subject line for several years now. It's a Halloween tradition :)
Not much going on today except for going to the gym(I just added the stair stepper to my repertoire. I like it but..I go too fast for the machine! "Something I never thought I'd say", indeed! ) and handing out candy tonight.

I went down to San Diego on the train.I hadn't done so in a long time so it was fun.I only just got home a little while ago so yeah,it was a long day.But I enjoyed it :) The weather was perfect,plus I got a lot of exercise walking around downtown.
I stopped in La Jolla on my way home and went to Warwick's books. It's a great independent book store with a huge selection of stuff(not just books!) Then I walked to the Living Room(I had no idea they had a branch in La Jolla), with huge windows that had a ocean view. *happysigh*. One of the jewelry stores I walked by had a sign that said "No (Halloween)masks-they scare us". I thought that was a odd request until I realised it probably has something to do with getting robbed. I can't say I blame them, in that case. ;)
Today I learned:That train fare for the Coaster has gone up quite a bit.
Today I took pleasure in: Going to a restaraunt I haven't gone to in a while and having a delicious lunch. :)
Will you be giving out candy to trick or treaters this year? If so, what goodies can the ghosts and goblins expect to bring home?
I have quite the assortment.. *thinks* Milky Way, Nerds, Sweet Tarts,Laffy Taffy, M&M's,Snickers,Kit Kats,Three Musketeers.(I get a LOT of Trick Or Treaters!)

*We did Meals On Wheels today.We'e been averaging about 9 people the last few times. Also, there was an article about one of the people we used to deliver Meals On Wheels to, whose house was almost falling down. One of the other volunteers told Meals On Wheels what was going on and a bunch of local charities are helping to get his house livable again. That makes me very happy. :)
*I have had some odd dreams as of late-I dreamt that I happened upon this hippie yoga place out in the middle of the woods. I didn't do any yoga, but I *did* check it out.
*Does anyone else remember the caramel sheets that you wrapped around an apple?It might be the time of year but I am craving those.And speaking of nostalgia and food, Target has Boo Berry, Frankenberry and Count Chocula for real cheap.
*On a list of the scariest movies ever? Jesus Camp. Yes, that movie IS scary, in its own way :P
* BBC's Channel Four has their own channel on Youtube now, with lots of shows to watch.That is very cool :)
