I watched Elizabeth :The Golden Age last night.I really liked it.Not very historically accurate from what I've heard, but I liked it a lot.
First off, I am so glad to see that shellakers is posting again!I hadn't seen any posts from her for a while and was getting worried.

A correction:I said that I thought I had a cold.I think in fact that it's allergies. Not sure what it would be-I think I can count the amount of times I've had allergies on my hands. It was the *worst* on Wednesday.I just slept and didn't do a whole lot else.I felt a LOT better Thursday and even went to the gym, after which I felt a LOT better.I still feel like I have allergies-congested and the like.Still,it's not that bad.

This couple,Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who live in Arkansas have 17 kids.Because of the number of kids that they have, the entire family has appeared on TLC and Discovery Health a bunch of times. So why do I mention it?Well, Michelle is pregnant with her 18th child.Yes,18th.Her kids are 20 years old down to 9 months old.
They are very religious, and take the "Be fruitful and multiply" thing seriously. Maybe a little TOO seriously, perhaps. I love kids(I have 3 nephews and 2 nieces and I adore them). But I don't know how the Duggars don't feel overwhelmed . I mean, they're having baby number 18, and baby number 17 is only 9 months old or so.
To say nothing of the fact that having that many kids, that frequently can NOT be easy on a woman's body. You have to wonder if her doctor has told her that it's time to give up non having kids.
But that's just me.I know it sounds weird coming from someone who doesn't have kids.
People are entitled to their opinions. I love to say that opinions are like a certain part of the anatomy.
This is a foreign concept to some people. I'm not going to censor myself because someone thinks that I should.Oh freaking well.
People are entitled to their opinions, but there are some things that are unforgivable-like accusing people(without proof-more to be an a$$hole than anything else)of doing unsavoury things.
If someone did that to me-they haven't-it was someone I post on a messageboard with),and I was face to face with them,I would punch their f***ing lights out.
I've had people say some really mean things to me-and I've said some mean things to people-I don't deny that-but a LOT of the people I have said things to,and have said things to me,are now friends. So it is possible to become friends with people after they have said some really s***ty things to you. Like my friend Laf.We were *enemies* for a long time and there were definitely words said between us.But I consider her a TRUE friend now :)
As far as the current situation goes, the person who is being an a$$hole has people backing him up and making excuses for his behaviour, that the person is question is "just a kid". Mind you, this person has a history of throwing his weight around and generally acting like an a$$hole.Yet he's got lots of people's back.I just don't get it,I really don't.
Rhodesia,1976
Mum says "Don't come creeping into our room at night."
They sleep with loaded guns beside them on the bedside rugs. She says "Don't startle us when we're sleeping".
"Why not?"
"We might shoot you."
"Oh".
"By mistake".
"Okay".
As it is,there seems a good enough chance of getting shot on purpose."OK,I won't."
-Alexandra Fuller, Don't Let's Go To The Dogs Tonight
*To give it context,it's a good summation of the situation in Rhodesia(now Zimbabwe),which is ongoing, actually. The situation in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe was bad, thus the reason for the loaded guns. Rainbow's End is another really good book that takes place around the same time as Alexandra Fuller's book.
The best cure for a cold is:Lots of sleep,lots of fluids(specifically:Water)and NyQuil.Swear.I already feel 80% better.No lie.
I've got a slightly scratchy-well not scratchy, but it's that "I feel like I'm coming down with a cold" feeling, along with being slightly congested, because of the weather(it changed, then changed again.) Usually, I'll get a REALLY bad headache,or muscle aches(though never both at the same time, thank the lord).

My new nickname for Miley Cyrus: Hannah Whoretana :P
I went to see Made Of Honor yesterday. It was alright. The only reason I saw it was because Kevin McKidd(Vorenus on Rome)is in it.And it takes place(at least partially)in Scotland and you know how I am about Scotland and Scottish accents ;)

I've got this
ordered and it should be here soon. It's like High Fidelity for movie buffs, and the lists are written by people who know-filmmakers themselves.

Went to Trader Joe's-I don't worry about high prices at the store because when I go to Trader Joe's I buy a lot, and don't pay a whole lot-compared to say,Ralph's.
Vosges has some REALLY interesting flavours of chocolate bars. Some of them-Creole(with New Orleans style chicory coffee) sounds better than others(a chocolate bar with-no lie-bacon bits-in it.It's salty and sweet and, apparently has a lot of fans already.)
They also have a white chocolate bar with olives in it(again,I'm gonna pass on that one). They also have a bar that has curry powder and coconut(I get the curry powder, but I'm allergic to coconut,so,no.)
They have two chocolate bars with chiles in them, which sounds like a really odd combination but Chuao makes a Mayan hot chocolate that has chiles in it which is good. It's not spicy right away, the spiciness is an aftertaste, but a good one. Chuao also does very unusual flavours, but not as out there as Vosges.
My mom and dad and I went to IKEA today. I thnk this was the first time I've been there that it wasn't crazy busy.We got there about 10:30 in the morning,so that may have had something to do with it.We were there looking for several things, and I found several of my Christmas presents(yes!).I told my mom I think this is probably the earliest that she has ever started her Christmas shopping.True!I got a "down"(it's not actually down,it's synthetic)comforter, and a duvet cover.
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
Having it be the perfect blend of relaxing and productive.
